Anyone else headed to Sebring FL next week for the TUDOR 12 HR race?   This 2400mi. round trip will be the inaugural trip for my 13QBB.

2400 miles in 12 hours definitely calls for anti-sway.

So the first trip with the new CL went well in all respects.  Took about 18 hours for the overnight drive from Baltimore MD to Sebring FL (and then back three days later), stopping only for gas and caffeine fill-ups. I tried to keep the speed around 63-65 MPH and averaged 13 MPG. Normal highway mileage is 20 MPG, so it was about what I was expecting.  The Prodigy RF wireless brake controller worked flawlessly, and helped me to avoid running into a big rig truck tire (still on the rim!) laying right in the middle of my lane on a dark and deserted stretch of I-95 somewhere south of Richmond VA.  Just around the corner from that surprise was a disabled truck missing a the driver's side wheel...

My 18 yr old Toyota 4Runner pulled the 13QBB pretty well...no problems with maintaining 65 MPH on level ground and was happy to do 70 MPH if asked, although I stayed around 65 most of the trip.  I had no sway issues at all, which is good because I don't see how it would be possible to mount anything to the tongue with the pole-type frame and breakaway battery, and wireless controller taking up all the space on both sides.  

I brought my Honda EU2000i generator on a whim, since I wasn't planning on having a need for it.  But unseasonably hot and humid weather (even for central Florida) gave me a reason to try running the Dometic 11,000 BTU AC with the generator.  I wasn't expecting it to work with the EU2000i, but it started right up and pumped out cold air for several hours until the outside temp dropped enough at night that I could do without it.  

The races were fun, and I won a "Hot Lap" ride around the track in a Nissan GT-R in a raffle drawing (video is [a href="https://youtu.be/bCKL0gfKU78"]here[/a]).  In hindsight, I should have stretched the trip a few more days to add an overnight stop or two...didn't have the luxury of extra time though.  Looking forward to a few trips this summer with less driving and more camping!

Great looking set up! Some of my best boyhood memories are from Sebring. Haven't been there in years, I still have family down there somewhere?!

 Great pictures bet the lap was fun. We used to camp at Highlands Hammock State Park when I was a kid . I remember visiting the track with my folks and dad driving a lap around the track in our Pontiac station wagon . Good memories from the 60's .
