A heads up on some issues that may be common

We just got back from camping this weekend in our 21BHS.  We enjoyed the time, but did have a few issues that I wanted to post so people can watch out, and also to see if others have experienced the same.

We towed to the campground in a torrential rain (typical Florida heavy thunderstorm).  When we got inside the camper after arriving at the campground, there was water on the floor in line with the forward edge of the slide.  While camping, we had someone stop to look at our camper who owns a 14DBS.  He said he too gets water in the slide when towing through heavy rain.  If I look at the forward edge of the slide on the outside, it is clear that the lower edge does not compress the gaskets nearly as much as the near the top.

After a heavy rain while camping, we found that water leaked in through the roof into the storage area above the bed.  A few of my wife's clothes got wet, but nothing serious.  After getting home, I looked at the roof.  On the side of the leak (passenger side), a section of the black gasket material under the metal corner trim piece that comes down from the roof along the radius front was missing.  I will need to caulk that.

Finally, I discovered that the front vent cover has a hole in it right in the center front edge, near the hinge.  It looks like when molded, the material is thin in that area, and it literally looks like it wore away.  The opening is about an inch long about 1/8" wide.  I'll have to get a replacement vent cover before heading to Arizona in a few weeks.

The new tire that was sent to me under warranty seems fine, and everything else in the camper worked well.  I'm just glad there is no wood and no carpeting.  That makes cleaning up the water easy.

If anybody experiences anything similar, especially a leaking slide when towing in heavy rain, please chime in.
