LL Awning question

I have the awning LL gave me with the 10.0 and I know it zips above the door and I got the poles right and the steaks. BUT, I guess the rope part that has the metal piece and the loop kinda confuses me. Does the loop end fit over the top of pole and the other end that has the metal piece goes on how? So may questions, so little time. I would use pictures but that is something else that is giving me fits. Thanks for any help.

There are 2 ends - one has a loop formed with clamps/staples, and the other has a piece of  curved metal with the line through  each of the holes in the curved metal.

The tip of each pole goes through the grommet on the awning, and the clamped loop of line fits around the tip over the awning.

The curved metal piece on the other end served as a brake for the line, kinda like a hitch, so that you don't have to tie knot.  Form a loop on this end by pulling line curved metal brake all the way to the knot on the end of the line, then pulling line only from the hole that away from the knot.  This loop goes around the stake in the ground, , and when tight the curved metal serves to keep the line tight. At least this is how it's supposed to work. From my experience, it' doesn't always keep the line tight, and I end up tying a taught line hitch.  It's the Boy Scout training - I always prefer knots over gadgets.

Picture would make this a  lot easier. Unfortunately my QS10 is still packed away for the summer under its tarp, and the lines are buried deep inside.

Thank you, I think I got it. I looked for pics all over the internet, nothing. Looks like LL would provide something to go by.
