Lloyd welcome to the group!  This forum is where you can find information on almost anything you want/need to know.  Enjoy your 8.0 and keep us posted as to your travels and experiences.

Welcome! T.J. in Tacoma here. Watch for next year's Livin' Lite rally. This year we were at Ft. Stevens State Park in NW Oregon.

TJ, please find a suitable park in WA state for next year, maybe on the peninsula ?

We'll still have Leslie organize everything, of course.

We'd better prioritize: hookups or no? Even on the Olympic Peninsula we have to answer: coast or mountains? State parks, national parks, or national forests?

Let's not hijack this thread, but I do like the idea of having Leslie plan everything else ;-)

Those who feel compelled to rough it without hookups can always just...not hookup !

Leslie, as the chief organizer, maybe you should get a thread going in the trip planning section.

I won't be going to the PNW in 2017. I've been thinking about trying to join the group who met in Maine this past summer. Hubby wants to spend about a month in Maine this coming summer.

I think I will post over there. I understand they made their reservations very early.
Located in Kentucky and Florida at present

Wecome from Seattle, really like my QS10 and enjoyed meeting other members at Fort Stevens this year.

Welcome. You'll love your 8.0. Less to go wrong compared to a Westie.

Hi, Lloyd, my husband and I are also new 8.0 owners. We haven't taken it out yet, but we've been trying it out at home by practicing set up and tear down, and showing it off to friends and neighbors. We've also taken it to an empty school parking lot a couple of times to practice backing it into a marked parking space.   We also have a rear deck, and I'd be interested to hear about your bike carrier set up, when completed.

wcuhoppytoad

Good idea practicing ahead of time backing in to parking spaces and setting up. Not to put much pressure on you, but one of the biggest past times for men in campgrounds is to watch others pull in and set up. Don't know why this is entertainment but I have caught myself many times enjoying this new type of campground reality show. Most will watch without you even noticing, but there are those few that will literally pull up chairs to the end of their campsite just to be entertained by the newbies and unexperienced.

Hi Lloyd! We live just down the road in Snohomish, and we too just bought a used QS (6.0) and drove it home from Oregon. Had to drive all the way down to Bend, but we think it was worth it.
