Concern about sink over power box in QS 14

Hi Gang. We just picked up our new QS 14 XLP over the weekend. We're really excited to use it (and mod it).

One of the things that came up as I was playing around with it this weekend was the tendency for some of the water from the sink to drip out while taking it down. As you may know, the power converter box is right in the line of fire for those drips. It doesn't take a veteran electrician to know that water + electricity = bad.

Has anyone found his to be a problem? What are the solutions? I was considering mounting a piece of aluminum to the frame just above the converter box.

Cheers!

It does seem like a strip of Al over the converter would be good to deflect water. If you could post a photo, others may be able to come up with additional ideas. At the very least, you may want to let someone else do the takedown so if there is an electrical problem, you can get a head start on the panic run.

Right. So here is a photo of the area under the sink as it is being pulled back. You can see the hoses pointing watery death at the converter.

That's astonishing! Right over the electronics! Absolutely protect that with a cover, which of course should have been done in designing the unit. You could also cap those loose ends when not connected, but even a few drips over the years will not do the electrics any good. If other QS owners have this same issue, they may have solved it already and will post up.

[p]We have a 14 XLP and haven't had an issue with water dripping on our converter. I make sure all those hoses are drained before I start closing up our trailer. [/p][p]BTW I love the floor on yours. [/p][p]
