28bhs slideout won't fully close

We've had our 28bhs since Labor Day 2015 and it has yet to fully close to my liking. I've looked at other brands of campers and noticed and nice tight seal between the slide out and exterior wall. There are not a lot of other Livin' Lite / Camplite campers in my area so I have not been able to see another one like mine up close and personal. We do notice water and dust intrusion when driving down the road in rainy and dry conditions respectively. I'll add a couple of photos for your reference. Is there something I'm needing to adjust with the mechanism settings? Lately it seems as if the back of the slideout (nearest rear bumper) is closing a bit more than the front (nearest the hitch).

It definitely should close tightly against the side of the camper, compressing the seal a bit. And both sides should be even. I wonder if it's hitting something on the way in? Have you looked all around inside the camper to be sure it's clear?

The gap is similar on front and rear edges and is uniform along the vertical edges top to bottom. Montedtrotter1 posted some excerpts from the Schwintek manual referring to synchronization that might be applicable. [a href="http://livinlite-owners.com/post/18897"]http://livinlite-owners.com/post/18897[/a]. Make sure you hold the switch until both motors stop and that they [/font][font size="3"]do[/font][font size="3"] indeed stop by themselves.

I can try to make a video of mine later so you can hear the slideout motors, but I don't see them come to a quick halt - they slow down a bit at the end and then stop. The couch does make contact with the fridge inside at the back portion of the slideout but I think the cushion isn't really stopping the progress. I hold the switch until everything stops. I'll verify on the ladder that nothing is in the way on the exterior of the slideout at the top, but the other three sides seem to be free and clear.

[font size="3"]Hard to tell. I think I read somewhere that there are actual limit switches rather than current limited motors like auto window motors. It may be the control board senses physical end of travel and interrupts the DC path. After the motors stop I don't sense any current when I press the button again. The video mentions Hall Effect devices which may be hard limit switches or turns counters. Either way this is pretty deep for a chemical guy  ;)   .[/font]

I was told by the factory that the slide "amps out" to shut off.  It senses the increased amps at close / open.  Need to hold button for couple seconds after it stops (in or out), let it stop by itself, don't anticipate and shut off too soon.  Hope this helps.

That info from the factory would not explain purdytj's problem, because the slide is obviously not closing far enough to trigger an amperage-based shut-off. (Unless something is in the way.) Time to find and read the installation manual for the slide-outs!

Yes, I understand.  Earlier post asked the question "Do the slideout motors really stop due to an electric limit switch or similar?".  

So, if something is not in the way, possibly "syncing" the two motors may help. Hard to tell in the pictures, but maybe one side of the slide is slightly in further than other.

Given that the motors have an amperage cutout or whatever the engineers call it, the fact that the slide cocks a little bit before it stops is a pretty good indication that there is a blockage on one side. This is either something that the slide is hitting from the inside or something on the slide track that it hits. Watch it carefully from the inside when it stops and look for what may be blocking it.
