I used a file and only took off the sharp points, maybe 1/16th of an inch in most cases. You really can't tell by looking. I also used the permanent marker trick. The corners can still poke me, but not to bring blood like before.

Camplite General Q & A / First real leak
September 09, 2015, 11:00:00 PM
Thanks for the info. I may need it too. In Durango two weeks ago with some decent rain.  A towel in the cabinet under the slideout dinnette was soaked. I'm guessing i should look at the slideout roof, but the rain was coming straight down, so i assume the awning over the slideout would have handled it well.

Camplite Mods / Upgrades / Shower Head Upgrade
September 05, 2015, 04:44:08 PM
Trying to decide between two Oxygenics showerheads.  Does anyone have experience with the Fury RV version - http://oxygenics.com/products/fury-handheld/?  My primary question is how much trickle comes out of the head when the flow valve is turned to low.

I find great value in this forum.  My daily practice is to click on the recent posts so that I can catch up on the day's activity.  My thanks go out to those who are always so ready with helpful ideas related to camplites or RVing in general.  What I hope is that we could gain consensus over not having this become a political forum where personal views about highly contentious and complicated topics are discussed. It pushes me away from the conversation and certainly decreases my interest.

Trip Planning / Durango, CO - any campsite ideas?
July 20, 2015, 10:30:23 PM
We're headed to Durango in a few weeks, first time there with the TT.  Does anyone have experience in that area?  Seems that most of the RV sites have electricity, but no water hookups... Odd.

I agree with whoofit's point about compromise. We grouse about less air flow and reduced view, but it's tolerable. The awning arm on ours is far enough away from the window, so it's not a breakage or scratching issue.

QuickSilver General Q & A / USB ports not working?
July 05, 2015, 11:33:48 PM
We had issues with our ports. It seemed that sometimes they worked and sometimes not. Had them replaced under warrantee a month ago.

21 ft noon today outside of Smithville, TX on HWY 71, pulled by a Mercedes. We've had ours for just over a year and that's the first other Camplite we've seen outside of a dealership. :)

Thanks for the aluminum shavings photo.  I had this fixed under warranty a few weeks ago, along with several other things.  Wondered what it looked like....
...Outside, the exterior fan/compressor noise is truly disruptive. Ours was by far the loudest in the campground loop were we on and I felt sorry for our neighbors. ...
Merlin, we have the same issue.  I absolutely HATE the exterior noise.  I don't like, but can handle, the interior noise.  I despise disrupting our campground neighbors, especially those in tents.

We have the camper in the shop for final warrantee work and this is one of the things we asked them to check.  They said all was fine and that it is just naturally loud.  If you find any ways to dampen it, I'll be very interested!

Here is a "sewer hose tube" thread that was helpful to me - http://livinlite.proboards.com/thread/172/where-store-sewer-parts

It depends on what device or operating system, or perhaps browser, you are using. In my case the Android Samsung tablet doesn't have the handy page buttons locked at the top. My Surface Pro 3 Windows 8 does.

QuickSilver General Q & A / Tire PSI? 12" Loadstars
April 29, 2015, 10:20:08 PM
There should be a sticker somewhere on the trailer that lists the tire pressure for the OEM tires.
My trailer sticker lists 13" tires and I actually have the offroad 14".  So I use the pressure stated on the tire itself instead.  I would assume that LL should have changed that sticker since it was a factory install of the beefier wheel.

Camplite Travel Trailers / Tow Capacity Calculations
April 21, 2015, 10:46:23 PM
I'm also curious as to what is being carried in the trailer. The 4140 seems a lot compared to LL's advertised 2650 advertised dry weight, even given the two propane tanks and two batteries. Are those two bikes Harleys?   8-)

To quell your curiosity, we carry (almost) all the comforts of home.  But I too wonder what puts us so far over the advertised dry weight.  The Harley wannabies are Trek and Rock Hopper mountain bikes, so that doesn't add too much.  Extra propane, extra battery, 5 - 14" tires, 1/4 fresh water, couple bags of ice in black tank. No dumbells or other weird weighty things. ... Just dug into the purchase paperwork and the TX Dept of Transportation forms state a dry weight of 2,980 and a carrying capacity of 3,020.  So it appears that the offroad package (14" tires and shifted axle) increases the GVWR by 1,000 to a total of 6,000 lbs.
