We also have an 8.1, and just set it up for the first time this weekend with the screened room.  It wasn't so obvious at first, but it does work.  There is extra zipper on the pup though...which is why it isn't straight forward.  They really should include instructions.

I just inquired about the gizmo for our 8.1, but we use our awning/screen room...so it doesn't look like it will work for us.

Our 8.1 we just got came with the electrical adapter and the lights, so maybe hold off on those for now.

For those with a quicksilver...do you use an electrical cooler or a bar-type fridge inside?  Any recommendations?  And recommendations about where to keep it?  How long can you run it off of the battery?
