New member here. Lots of good info so far but I have a question, search didn't help.
I'm interested in a LL 6.0. There is a small cabinet built in to one corner of the floor. Is it possible to store a porta potty in there? Not an absolute necessity but it would be a convenience. If necessary one could be kept in a tote out back on the deck if nothing else. That's assuming I find one with the deck included.
We have a QS6 (2013 model) and our cabinet is much too small to accommodate a porta potty. Some earlier models apparently have a larger version of this cabinet, but I would still be doubtful that it would be large enough. In any case, if you purchase a 6 with AC, that cabinet is where the AC unit is located.

Even if the cabinet could accommodate a porta potty, I don't know if I really would want it inside the camper. I have been toying with the idea of using one of those tall shower/changing room tents outside the camper as a basic bathroom. It could serve as a shower, porta potty, and changing room with relative ease.
Another issue that popped up as the wife and I were talking about getting a toilet was the fact that I don't want to mess with the clean up. Its bad enough with a full size trailer when you have to deal with hooking up the waste pipe. I dont want to think of the mess if you were to try and dump the waste tank from the little 5 or 7 gallon porta potty. If we are camping 99.9% of the time the area will have a bath house of some sort, and in that rare occasion that no facilities are available...well lets just say necessity is the mother of invention.
In my case a porta potty is a must. I camp with five people in my 10.0. Four of them are ladies. Nobody has to leave the camper in the middle of the night. It is only used for middle of the night number one trips. My Coleman porta potty is designed to make it easy for me to dump in camp toilets. I just carry it in one hand and a rinsing jug full of water in the other to the bathroom. I dump waist down toilet, then poor clean water in and swish it around a bit, dump down toilet, and I'm done. It's easy to carry, dump, and clean. It has its own special spot in the camper with curtains for privacy. I know this isn't ideal for most folks, but it has been working for us so far.
We use a porta potty only to prevent pee trips to the restroom in the middle of the night.
Keep it under the bed out of sight during the day. Dump/clean every morning at the dump station or rest room.
We use the following to keep it clean & smelling fresh as a daisy for the last three years.
After dumping, pour in two caps full of Base Camp Holding Tank deodorizer/cleaner & shake spreading solution in the tank. Use this solution for cleaning the valve with a toothbrush, too. Next spray small amount of Ozium in the tank & close it. Next wipe it down with antibacterial wipes. Rinse it out with water every two or three days. If the valve needs lubrication use Plumbers Silicone lubricant to keep it working freely.
After using this setup, has us interested in installing a cassette toilet in our next camper.

Thanks all for the information. It sounds like the cabinet storage idea is out.
We are considering the porta-potty as a reluctant necessity as our intention is to be able to travel to out of the way areas to camp, not knowing whether or nor to expect toilet facilities.
If facilities are available it would not be needed.
Exploringcarolina, thanks for the rundown on care and maintenance. Sean, I understand that necessity is the mother of invention but I know one Mother who wouldn't appreciate such necessities.
My wife uses a porta potty that comes with those disposable bags for the middle of the night. I use a Sunny D bottle, lol. Oh yeah, plenty of room for the fit, ha!
