Not feeling well lately so I called my Doc. The nurse said the Dr had retired and a new young fellow is handling his patients. I think the new guy will work out just fine. He wrote this script for me.

I was raised about 10 miles down the road in Dunbar, PA. My family goes back to the late 1600's and 1700's. Revolutionary War Vets. One GGG grandfather fought with General LaFayette. Also had brother against brother in the War of Northern Aggression (Civil War). My GG Grandfather died at Petersburg,VA
LG Are you camping at Tub Run?

Back when I was a teenager I almost drown at Ohiopyle, me and a buddy going down the rapids in a little rubber raft right up and over a big rock and stuck in the hydraulic. Eventually he bounced out of the raft and then the raft bounced free of the hydraulic. Ah the good old days.

[/quote]Qualifies for PRIME ! Done.
It's a great area to camp. If you like water for sking/tub-inning then head for the Yough. We spent many nights at Tub Rub campsites.
Some awesome fly fishing for trout along the Dunbar Creek. Deep Deep family roots there.
LGL.... bring some QSL wings and I buy the beer.
Haha!! Seems like I struck a chord here! Tink, thanks for the website!, Mitch, I bet I know the hydrolic! We had a friend fall out of a raft there and had to be rescued by one of the guides. The rapids are a blast! As long as you don't mind a few bumps and bruises and ripped clothes, the natural waterslide is quite fun too! Dave..No, we are camping at Ohio Pyle State Park. We have never camped at Tub Run. We will have to check it out. We met some people two years ago at the Beer and Gear who were camping at Scarlet Run. You should try coming to the Beer and Gear. But, they only sell so many tickets and you have to be in line with your driver's license and $25.00. With that $25.00 you get a glass with all the micro brewies participating. Once you go in they start you off with a taste. Eventually they start giving you more and more. There is a band and of course the camping and rafting/kayaking gear. It is a blast! This will be our fifth year.
That Beer and Geer sounds great. Father's Day weekend, hmm??? We will be camping the weekend before that in Illinois to watch Dragon Boat racing. Any idea if there are still camping sites available?
'If you want something stronger, there's plenty of "shine" to be had there. My Grandad's were "farmers". there. I did a ton of deer hunts there. If you head down Chalk Hill Rd toward old route 40 be sure to visit Fort Necessity. Laural Caverns are a good day trip too. If you keep going West on I 70 then free camping at Cabelas in W. VA.
Leslie, I am not sure of the camping sites. We are camping at Ohiopyle State Park and have had our reservations since the end of January. The sites are only electric. I have never been to Tub Run. Scarlett Hill I heard is not very nice. There is a Jellystone Campground also. There are a few others around too, but not sure what the names are. They only sell a few hundred tickets on the day of the festival, so you would have to go fairly early to get in line. We usually go around 12:30 or one just to get in line. It starts at 3 and ends at 7. They have a bluegrass band also.
Dave, We have been to Laurel Caverns, but have only passed Fort Necessity. We will have to try a visit there sometime. My husband is from Pennsylvania too.. He was born and raised in New Castle. And by the way...I ordered a couple of the coozies.

Oh and dont forget Quaker Steak & Lube ... YUmmmmmmmm and Iron City beer. Lots of the wifes family in your area... Cleveland, Boardman, Akron.
Dave, have you been to Ohiopyle recently? They have done a ton of updates to the the town. It is becoming quite the tourist attraction. And yes the Quaker Steak and Lube do have the best chicken wings! We have one here in Valley View, Ohio too. Maybe we can meet up sometime and we will bring the QSL and you bring the beer! lol
