[p]Hello folks, [/p][p]I had an accident this weekend where the wind took my awning and through it over the roof breaking my "saucer style" HD TV antenna. The question I have is where could I either buy a replacement OR buy something better that would fit in the same location and not involve the need for a crank or other hardware to make it move? Any recommendations for replacements or idea where I can buy something better?[/p][p]

Thanks James. This does look to be the one (mine is black). Are you familiar with similar style antennas but of better quality? Stronger signal maybe?

I suggest that you search some of the electronic forums as I'm sure that someone has done a comparative study on these antennas. With respect to design, there are much better antennas on the market than this one. Most of your better options will come in the form of a directional antenna such as the typical or upscale RV Batwing, which requires you to bore a hole through the roof. I plan to leave mine as is, as it's too much of a hassle to upgrade. One solution, if you have a satellite dish at home, would be to buy a portable dish and take your receiver with you on the road. I almost forgot, the one good thing about the saucer is that you'll never have to remember to lower it before you leave the campground. James [/p]
Another option you might want to consider is using a portable antenna on a stand. You can connect it to the exterior coax jack on the side of the camper with as much cable as you need. Obviously that's more setup time, but it might get you better reception if the antenna is higher quality or if it allows you to place it in a better location.

A job option but I'm a little lazy;). I ordered the antenna from campingworld :).
