Why they did used aluminum?

It's not aluminum. I believe it's the same stuff that they are using on the current Thor LL trailers. The angles are too extreme to do aluminum. Durability? Hard to say, I think they did a good job on mine but time will tell. Even with a leak, having a non-wood interior should minimize damage.
