Title: How to replace a friction cone
Post by: gbpack on September 13, 2016, 12:06:41 PM
There is probably a thread out there that addresses this, but could someone please tell me the steps involved with replacing our friction cone? We have an Andersen WDH and had to have them send us a replacement friction cone because of the noise that the original cone was making. Thanks!

That video really helped! Replaced the friction cone with no trouble or problems. Nice and quiet now while we are towing! Thanks again.

Out of curiosity, when you pulled the cone off the ball shaft was the shaft all splotchy brown with rust?  Mine was and after discussion with Andersen I cleaned it up with sandpaper and steel wool.

Interesting, my original cone was black and I was told the noise was because the cone material had absorbed water. That makes sense given the condition of the shaft.  I guess your's just wore out. My new cone is white.
