To ppl with the 6.0 do you all have/use the awning they make or something else outside your door. We just bought our camper a couple months ago and did not get the awning, but after camping in the rain all weekend I feel like I either want to buy the awning or something similar. Any feedback is appreciated!!
I do not use an awning with my QS6 but am interested in feedback. I have looked on Amazon for some type of tent or screen room with front and back door but nothing has really stood out. The cost of the QS awning has seemed prohibitive.
I didn't get the awning for my 6.0 because people said they needed a step ladder to zip it on. Now, I think I could zip it on before raising the top all the way. I might get one later.
I use an REI Alcove over the camp picnic table. I have walls for two adjacent sides (one long piece covers two sides and hooks on the top), and that's what I use to cook under in blowing rain. I haven't needed to cover the other two sides yet so haven't bought that piece for the walls. The two pieces are extra.
Staked well it can make it through some winds. And rain pools and has to be pushed off, but that could be fixed with two more stakes and some cord. I just don't like to stake the four corners, fabric on four corners AND the longer fabric sides. If the weather is that serious I'm taking it down when I see the warning.
I'd love to hear if anyone finds the awning itself enough.

We use a 10x10 easy up style shelter. It works great and can accommodate shade walls or a full screen room if desired.
We also bought a 10 x 10 EZup brand. Love it. We added the half wall shade and their sandbags for the legs. I use motorcycle tie downs to the trailer and whatever else may be near...like a picnic table. That's for wind.
The awning zips across the top seam of the canvas. It's a decent option but it requires multiple support lines and independent poles when setup. It also has the possibility of adding stress to your top seam in high wind situations. I'd rather lose my ezup rather than rip the top to my camper if it gets to that point.
I hadn't thought about that. I fugured I could get it up, but with as much wind as storms bring I should have thought about taking it down.

We decided to go this route instead of the very pricey awning room from LivinLite. I like to place this room over the picnic table that typically is found at most campsites.
Still, there have been rainy days, when we wished we had an awning over the door. We've decided to spring for the zip-on awning, and are hoping that we can use our screen room shelter to support the other end, instead of the tent poles.
I have always used EZ-ups when camping and just continued to go that route after getting my pop up- as long as weight and space are not an issue for you then it is a very good option.
