Title: Fan won't work on low
Post by: idlerockfarm on August 03, 2016, 01:46:10 PM
The fan that plugs into 12V and attaches to the bimini poles works on high but not on low. I moved it to a new pole and it just won't turn on on low. The light still works.

Has that happened to anyone else?

If I hold the fan switch slightly toward off on the "I" (low) side the low fan works. Maybe loose wiring. I have NO IDEA how to fix it though.

I have 1 of my 2 fan/light combos that does this same thing. I think the fans are just generic low quality items that is prone to failing. My other one works on high and low without issue so I know its not the trailer wiring. These fan combos are cheap and easily replaced: http://amzn.to/2alT0Hj

Frustrating, but good to know. I'll probably just get a new one.

I'm not used to owning something less than two full months and having it break. I'll add that to my "LL should do better list" along with my table for the 6.0. The metal ring underneath was drilled improperly and the screws are angled and not flush. I haven't unscrewed and fixed the problem yet. Auuuggghhh.

[/quote]I had the same problem with the table on my 6.0. The top finally separated from the ring. I have not bothered to repair or replace it. The table was a pain in the butt with my chocolate lab anyway. I just use a foldable tray table when needed.

Unfortunately those fans are industry standard and I think they are actually provided by the dealer rather than the factory. I agree that it shouldn't fail but I think its just what we get from chinese mass production.

Mjmoore, glad it wasn't just me. I'm going to get a folding "tv tray" when I find one I like. LL could have done better. That table is a joke.

Sean, good to know. Without the forum I would have had no idea that other owners of other brands have similar gripes. I've done some guesting around since I purchased. Wow. I am still very happy with my first trailer. Learning curve ....
