Title: 12v system not working
Post by: davidlangenderfer on July 30, 2016, 03:41:00 PM
I was working on adding some LED lights to the outside of my camper. I checked for 12v first with a multi meter. I am only getting 2.5 volts. Is my converter bad? Any help would be appreciated.

Is the meter auto ranging? Might be set on wrong scale.
Check the battery voltage plugged into ac and unplugged. Plugged in should be over 13v.
Check the ground the meter is using, if there is any corrosion the merger may read a lower voltage.

Check the ground wiring.  It's the white wire coming out of the converter.  All of the 12 volt circuits connect to that one big white wire.  It's probably a bad connection there.
