Title: 8.0 galley leaking
Post by: debiski on July 17, 2016, 04:08:00 PM
On our trip this weekend we were unable to use the sink (yes, hubby insists) because it is leaking from the underside of the faucet. I'd like to get my hands in there and look around anyway, so how does the sinktop/countertop come off?

I remember seeing one of you post pictures of a GREAT looking mod where you removed the entire piece and replaced it with a gorgeous wood work surface. Who was that and how did you get the original one off? I can't find the post ATM and I'm hoping that since I've removed the top half of the galley already I can convince hubby to chuck the sink all together.

Hey, I responded on the other thread that I assume you are referring to here. If the sink has remained the same across the years, there shouldnt be much that could cause a leak. This is essentially what they use as a drain: http://amzn.to/29JeLoR
So either the sink itself is leaking from the drop in drain fitting, the larger white fitting on the underside, or the hose itself. All in all it shouldn't be difficult to troubleshoot. Though as you could see in my other post, ditching the sink all together has been my choice at this point. I still have a 'faucet' on the inside that I can use with a dish washing tub if i really need a 'sink' but so far it has never been needed.
