Title: Natural Tunnel State Park in southwestern VA
Post by: on July 12, 2016, 11:26:05 AM
Just returned from a three-night stay at this park and had a great time- 5 adults and 4 children (ages 1,2,3, and 5).  This was absolutely the best state park that I have visited.  There are two campground loops and we had two large adjacent sites in the newer Lover's Leap Loop.  The sites were all large and the bathhouse was immaculate.  The hiking trails were well-marked and we enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the park.  The facilities were great, large pool, kiddie pool (no added charge for campers), amphitheater with free shows on Sunday night, chair lift down to the bottom of the gorge to see the tunnel (low per person fee for this), visitor center.  The camp staff was extremely helpful and efficient- even providing assistance when my car battery was dead.  The camp store was clean and contained all the essentials (ice was only $2 a bag).  We had a wonderful time!
