I was charging my phone with the USB charging station and when my wife came to plug hers and she said it wasn't charging and the charging station was really hot and we could smell a burnt odor. We checked behind it to see the connection and couldn't see anything that looked like it burned. We left it overnight and it cooled down but we tried to charge something this morning and it wasn't working. Any though?
Were you charging right from a USB type plug or was it a 12 volt outlet with a USB outlet adapter or was it something else?

In general USB charging ports will only allow a certain amperage regardless of the attached device. Some wall ports deliver only .5 amps other may do 2.1 or even higher, it kind of depends on the installed wall port. What that usually impacts is the speed that an attached device will charge. I have no idea what LL put in as charging port but your phone shouldn't overload the wall port. I'd suspect a short, did you check your charging cord for damage? I wouldn't think the port itself was bad (it may be now) because the issue didn't happen until your phone was plugged in.
