Title: Thor buys Jayco
Post by: gbpack on July 03, 2016, 12:07:54 AM
Just saw an article about Thor having purchased Jayco on June 30 for somewhere around $575 million. Thor just keeps getting bigger and they are saying the same thing that they said after purchasing Livin Lite (that Jayco will continue to operate "as is" and will remain a separate operating entity). But they never say that they won't change anything! Geez. How many more RV companies can they purchase?

I'm shocked at that one. Thanks.

How many more are there? That's how many they can purchase.

You think they'll start making CampLites in the Jayco factory?  (puke)

Ha, not only do they have the possibility of wood rot, but termites would have a field day in that trailer. Dang I am glad I got my Livin Lite before Thor got their hands on it.

I couldn't watch it all. Those things are all wood?! And consumers know that?!  ?

I don't particularly like wood frame TT's, but they still make them and some like "Nash" and "Arctic Fox" have excellent reputations. I've never seen a TT with termite damage, I'm sure there's some somewhere, but water damage is the real enemy of wood frame trailers. That being said, I think the Camplite with the all aluminum construction is the way to go.

Jayco is popping trailers together at a rate that I would think lends itself to poor quality control.
