The dinette table mounting system in my 13 QBB is essentially a post that slides into a socket (I think they are all built this way) The issue I have with it is stability, has anyone changed the mounting system to use a wedge mount base? I need to be able to remove the table from the mount and drop it down to create the bed so that eliminates using a telescopic mount which would be my preference. Any other ideas out there that don't involve major mods?
I found that my table wobbles because the floor flexes, not because the post/base were unstable. My planned fix is to add some aluminum beams/plate to spread the loan over a larger area. I haven't had the time to make that change though, so I'm unsure if it will completely resolve the issue.
Mitch,
Stability is a problem with them all. It's just physics. I substituted a marine grade locking post and it was better, but still wobbled. The best single post I've seen is the one Lance uses in theirs, but I don't know where to find one. TinkeringTechie noted that the floor actually flexes so the single post approach is doomed to wobble.
I think your dinette is against the wall so look at the way I attached my new table. It hooks to the wall with the Patrick Metals Support Slide track/slide and uses a folding leg. It doesn't wobble. Easily detached so it maintains the bed option. All the other hardware shown is for the detachable leaf and can be disregarded.

>> [a href="http://livinlite-owners.com/thread/1005/major-dinette-upgrade-telescopic-pedestal"]Here's a thread I started about my own dinette table mod. [/a]<< It works pretty good and is reasonably stable - no wobbles. I avoid leaning on the table with any more force that my elbows. It has about an 12" diameter base screwed to the aluminum floor. With any of these floor mounted table supports I'd caution -- It wouldn't take much to damage the floor. For instance I'd bet that if a drunk visitor tried to sit on any of our floor-mounted tables the floor would buckle & bend. Ideally I'd like to have mounted a fairly large plate to the underside of the floor to spread the load and then anchored through the floor to that plate. I didn't so I keep a watchful eye that excessive loads don't get put on the table. All this said I do think this is far better solutions than the stock folding table legs that my small but mighty Camplite 11FDB came with. The finish of the anodized aluminum base matches the finish of our painted aluminum interior walls quite well.

Gotta hate physics! I'm very averse to putting holes in my camper otherwise I'd go with your approach Charlie. The collapsing 3 stage post is what I'd like but damn, $410 is a lot to stop some wobble.
Mitch,
For shame. The first three things a CL owner should have:
[ol type="decimal"][li]A digital voltmeter for the battery and to trace wires
[/li][li]A #2 square screwdriver to remove screws[/li][li]A battery powered drill to add screws[/li][/ol][p]
[/p][p] ;) ;) ;) 8-)

Given the size of my print envelope I estimate that a cylinder of the height I need would need to be built in 4,273.5 stages and the bottom one would have a diameter of 753 feet. Of course this is just an estimate but you get the idea. :P I did however just print a lovely toilet paper holder.
So, you just get out the sabre saw and cut out the center 6 or 8 inch circle. Can you recycle the wasted corn based plastic? :D :D

i used pair of the garelick posts for my table project...they are better than any i have seen on other campers, but i wouldnt put too much pressure on them (if nothing else the screws would probably rip out of the table)
