Not being able to find a suitable funnel at the auto store, I did a little hardware aisle engineering and Walla! A few 3/4" and 3" PVC fittings and a funnel that will take almost anything you can pour at it. Hand not included ;) .

The last time I had to pour water into the camper's fill port, I used a rolled up magazine. Yours is much more elegant.

And when you aren't using it as a funnel you can use it as a moose call. Make a loud moaning sound and get the moose studs trotting over to look for the cow in heat. (Here in Canada we do that kind of thing for entertainment).
It would also work as a beer funnel for those roudy campground keg parties. Or an old tyme hearing aid.
What are you filling from that you need a funnel? We got one of these for filling from the hose:
http://www.amazon.com/Camco-40003-Water-Filler-Shutoff/dp/B0006IX850
and when we're filling from a portable tank we just screw it onto the tank.
I keep a 2-3 gallon collapsible jug on board to refill the fresh water tank. I don't use it much as I generally fill up the tank when I arrive at a campsite since I like to travel empty. I try to judge how much to fill vs the number of days we stay to limit fill time, but once in a while I get it wrong.
The collapsible jug has a valve with a little spigot but that takes too long and when you have to hold it up while filling, long is long. So I take off the cap and use a funnel. So far it has been an ad hoc funnel. I am jealous of Charlie's funnel, but I am a minimalist kind of guy, so if I can get by with a kludge, I will.
From Charlie's list of mods, I can tell that he is not a minimalist guy ;-).

I got a funnel with a flexible hose between the funnel part and the nozzle part, I think from an auto-parts store. I also got one of these because a 5 gallon container of water is just too darn heavy to hold and pour.

TT: Got one too, but won't fit my 5-6.5 gallon rigid plastic containers. Wrong size/thread. I was looking toward a ten day stay without a hose hookup. Probably have to haul water a short distance, both ways.
DAVID: I also carry 5 gal collapsibles and have the same flow rate issues. Hence the funnel, especially with the squishy collapsible jugs. Will probably fill two rigid containers and the onboard tank on entry, then refill containers or collapsibles as necessary, along with "blue tote" .
"From Charlie's list of mods, I can tell that he is not a minimalist guy." When you're a retired tinkering engineer you get to do such things. Half the fun is solving a problem that may or may not need solving 8-) Camp on!

Mitch, that works fine if you get the water jug above the filler port. Gravity, you know. I also found said auto store funnels restricted the flow too much. Now that I've provided the prototype it's up to
Sean to produce the CAD model drawing and you to mfg them with corn based 3D printing :D . We can solve this one for

I use one of those siphon hose you get at Harbor Freight.
At some point in the past I saw a posting somewhere about using a piece of broom stick or dowel - with a homemade sling strap thingie attached to one end - to easily support a heavy water jug when giving your trailer refreshment. I raise it now since it seems like a very practical idea for anyone who feeds their camper from a jug. One thing I remember about it is by being a single post holding up the jug is it apparently was easy to tip to adjust to get all the water out.
There was one time while camping that we ran out of water and we had one big aquatainer but they are very heavy when filled and had a hard time with no funnel, I finally gave up and drove with the trailer to the water station
In a pinch, we hacked up a 2-liter water bottle into something resembling a funnel and it worked admirably well.
And the price was right!
