I cleaned our 21BHS toilet out pretty good with one of those water hose wands from the inside of the trailer. Got it pretty clean. Now on the first trip out since Florida last month, the seal will not hold water. I took it out, cleaned it up but no real visual damage or reason it will not seal. Anyway I will buy a new one tomorrow at an RV supply store if they have one, I would think these things last longer than one year. The instructions said to pour hot water on it and use your fingers to press it down. It will not hold water so this does not work. Anybody had issues with the toilet seal?
OK got this fixed!
1.On our last trip in February to Florida, 8 days, I dedcided to use the hose swizzle stick to clean out the black tank as we do not have the flush kit option.
2. The Dometic toilet has the pedal control and this is attached to two arms located just inside the toilet (you can see them looking into the toilet)
3. These arms have a plastic pin that fits into a slot or hole for proper alignment of the plastic slide that moves back and forth.
4. One of the arms jumped out of alignment slot as I must have hit it with the pvc clean out stick.
5. Simply reach in (after taking out rubber seal) and snap the arm back into place.
6. Toilet now seals!
Good stuff!
But you forgot steps seven & eight:
7. Wash your hands vigorously!!
8. Have an adult refreshment (or two) and admire your handiwork. (you now know: U-D-Man!)
