I have a Coleman 8.1 camper, with the 12v plug in lights.
Has anyone converted the plug ins to LED? Is it as easy as
Switching the bulbs?
Also, are there any other items that can be plugged into the 2
Light sockets that are built in to the camper?

Short answer is yes you can simply switch the bulbs out to convert them to LED. I dont recall the exact bulb but there are plenty available on Amazon or places like Camping World.
As for other items that plug into that outlet...I havent seen anything else beyond a light, or fan/light combo.
Purchased plug in LEDs for the Camper, Car, and Motorcycle from these folks. They are very helpful when I call with questions, too.

Seriously the Lunch Box Stoves are really cool. You wouldn't use it camping because it will drain your battery faster than Latvian pole dancer. Where they excel is pack it with some good grub at home before you head out on the road and then have a quick easy hot meal in transit or when you arrive at the campsite. Many truckers use them like slow cookers.

i installed the axess tv with dvd player and it is a nice tv for the price. viewing angle is a bit limited, but other than that it has worked well and doesnt use much power. it is nice to be able to watch tv without running the generator

Back on the original post's question, I cant seem to easily find the plugs themselves so I dont even know if you could wire something up yourself to use that port. Anyone know what that headphone looking jack is called when used with 12v?
you can use any bare 1/4" mono plug (radioshack is a good source)...just be sure to get the polarity right
i had the fan/light combo from our old camper and it used the mono plug, chopped it off and wired up the 12v cigarette lighter plug for use in the vrv
I replaced our lights with LED as soon as we bought the camper. I got the lightbulbs right her in town at Menards.
I converted to LED, but I don't recall where I got the "bulbs". Mine are a flat panel of LED chips that connect with small wires to a lamp base that replaced the original bulb. They work extremely well.
There's nothing special about the 1/4 inch plugs that are used on the fan/light units. They are just regular monaural 1/4 inch headphone jacks. I agree that Radio Shack would be a good source, but since they went out of business last year, it's probably just another Amazon.com product now. Get the solder on type connector, use big enough wire for the load you're going to put on it and you should be good to go.
The two 1/4 inch outlets share the same capacity circuit and fuse as the circuit connected to the one cigarette lighter style outlet. I think they are 15 amp circuits, so be careful not to overload that circuit.
If I recall correctly, the power supply has another 12v circuit that is not used. Look for an unused wire coming out of the power supply with the rest of the 12v wiring and an empty place for another blade type fuse in the power supply.
