Title: Hello from Colorado
Post by: geekopher on January 23, 2016, 07:32:34 PM
We've had the 16TBS since last May and had a summer full of adventures across Colorado. Here's a pic of the rig atop Cumberland Pass at 12.015 ft.

nice...colorado here too.  i dont see too many livin lites out when we camp.  we usually camp up at the sand hills above walden, round mountain/taryall, and taylor park

if you havent been around taylor, you should spend a few days there this year...hookups or dry camping, a cafe, reservoir, tons of trails, atv/utv riding/etc

great area

Good to have on the forum! How is the Tacoma with towing the 16TBS? I see you have an Andersen WDH. Everything smooth with that?
Welcome to the Livin Lite family!

I'm here on behalf of the factory and we LOVE seeing pics like this. Do you mind if I post it on the Livin Lite facebook page for other owners to see and enjoy? (Especially those who are snowed in....;-))

Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

christianm - Feel free to use the photo, it's a favorite of mine.

merlin - The Tacoma does great pulling the 16. It definitely knows it's in the mountains and I make good use of the shifter, but it's the perfect TV for us. I can't say enough about the Anderson WDH. It makes the trailer track like it's on rails. We have the "off road" package on both the Tacoma and the 16 and definitely put them to use. I had it in 4-Low for a good stretch going up Cumberland from the North. It's a rugged climb, but the rig took it in stride.

thudd3r - We dumped & filled at Taylor Park a couple of hours before the photo was taken. We headed on through Tincup and up the pass, camping dispersed down the other side. It's a beautiful area. We ended up hiking up to Napoleon Peak.

Here are a couple more pic's from the same trip:
nice.  we spend a week there every year in august for the rzrforums.net rally and stay just down 765 at a nice meadow surrounded by trees (38°46'16.94"N 106°29'1.81"W)

great area for sure

the hike up to iron chest mine or tellerium would be great.  the trails are atv/jeep multiuse trails.  iron chest still a few mine buildings and pieces of equipment at the top.  both are shelf roads with great views at the top

alpine loop is a good time and completely driveable.  they are rebuilding the old stone maintenance/transfer station at the top where the alpine tunnel used to be (caved in shortly after being built)
Thanks for the suggestions. Alpine loop looks like an adventure.
The coords on where we camped are: (38°40'48.5"N 106°27'51.6"W)
Near the confluence of Graphite Creek & North Quartz Creek. Looking at the map, I noticed that the hike we did was to Napoleon Mountain and Fitzpatrick Peak.

Beautiful country.
