Title: Pipe foam on Bimini Bars
Post by: aznighthiker on July 24, 2015, 02:16:28 PM
I have a 09 Quicksilver 8.0 and I have removed the dinette bases and cushions since our first use. I noted the bimini bars are slightly lower wih the dinette bases removed so I installed a piece of pipe foam on the wall support brace adjacent to the door to keep from damaging the canvas tent. Has any one placed pipe foam on just  the vertical sections of the two center bimini bars ?

I have not, but I think I might try this now that you bring it up. I noticed a location in my canvas that seems to have a slight wear spot and I can only assume it was somehow due to the bars. A little cushion couldn't hurt ...

Sean, did you try this? The pool noodles for the support brackets under the tonneau cover worked well for me and I have some materials left, but didn't want to waste it if I can use it for something else.  Thanks!

I have not tried it yet. If you are thinking about using pool noodle as the foam I think it might be too thick. When I read the original post I was thinking the pipe insulation from the hardware store. Its usually thinner than most pool noodles (even the dollar store versions).

Especially with the added tension from the gizmos.
