Title: Hello from the Space Coast of Central Florida
Post by: cocoloco on July 23, 2015, 08:28:55 PM
Just found this forum. Been researching pop ups and found the Livin Lite QS's! Now have to decide between the 8 & 10. Having a 2011 Honda Element I thought I would never find a pop up under the max trailer weight for this vehicle. I'm retiring next year and plan traveling around Florida fishing with another avid fisherman. Now that found what I want locating a dealer now is becoming my next challenge!

Welcome from JawJaw. My Dad use to live in your area off I-95 an "RV" friendly community. I cant recall the name but it's pretty popular. The rest of the family lives in Jax Beach.

[p]Welcome, Neighbor!  We live close enough to you that we shared that space launch this evening.   [/p][p]
[/p][p]Here's a link to the biggest RV dealer in the Nation, they say.  It looks like they've got a handful of what your looking for:[/p][p][a href="http://www.lazydays.com/rvs/livin-lite?Classes=PT"]http://www.lazydays.com/rvs/livin-lite?Classes=PT[/a][/p][p]
[/p][p]We did business with this dealer and strongly suggest you haggle price 'til they give you what you want just to see you go, with something off the lot, of course.   Looks like one of the units has already had a price slash.  [/p][p]
[/p][p]Enjoy the hunt...sometimes it's the funnest part.  The work starts when you 'bag the beast'!  :D[/p]

Tonight's launch was an awesome view from PSJ. Thanks on LazyDays information. Was hoping local Camping World in Cocoa had them but no luck. Guess I'll make the drive to Tampa on Saturday as the weather doesn't look good for fishing the Lagoons this weekend!

Just a heads up some of there inventory at Lazydays may be at Tampa Bay Downs they are part of a RV show there this weekend. I have purchased an RV in Tampa from them it is a huge place very friendly atmosphere you can walk around with out a salesperson if you want no pressure. I bought my 14DBS at the Lazydays in Tucson also a great experience.

One more note on Lazydays. We looked there when first looking at LLs. It's an awesome place where you can get lost on their lot. Lots of inventory. However, arm yourself with a good idea what you should pay before negotiating with them They didn't seem too interested in dealing when we were there. We bought elsewhere.

We found LazyDays very open to negotiations on a unit that hadn't been on the lot but a couple of months.  They queue up their salesperson in order of customer walk-in.  If you just show up, hope that you get a good and 'hungry' salesperson...OR you can call ahead and ask firmly to speak to the one salesperson who is most familiar with Livin Lite products.  Establish a relationship via phone and maybe save yourself a long trip to Tampa if you don't hear what you want to hear...unless of course, you just want to kick the tires.

They had the unit we had been shopping on-line for some time, so all haggling took place over the phone.  The salesman did a lot of back-and-forth until our terms were met.  Then we made the drive to Tampa.

The deal turned a bit sour when after signing, we learned on this pro-board the facts...that there is wood in LL products (doors), though  probably not in their QS line.  The dealer then played hard-ball since they had us with signed paperwork.  That poor salesman, he really did work hard to salvage the deal and did maintain integrity throughout.  It was the sales manager who lost his 'cool' and was not understanding in the least.  In the end, we still believe LL's marketing is somewhat deceptive.

THAT SAID...we loved the free meals and drinks in the LazyDays restaurant all the while we were on the grounds.  And the grounds, well we doubt that there is a more beautiful dealer with all of the old oak trees draped with Spanish moss shading their inventory which is huge and interesting to explore in itself.

There is another thread here that poses the question, paraphrased, "if you didn't purchase your LL trailer, what would you have purchased?"  One half of us (me) would have taken, in a heartbeat, a little red 11' LL trailer OR cute cute cute green R-Pod with a happy frog on its sides.  Both were on the lot and very tempting, at least to one of us.  BUT we stayed the course and that said, we really do like our Axxess toyhauler.  With each use, we can't help but notice how much it permits us to do.  Love its spaciousness and comfortable furnishings....but am now getting into thread drift.   Enjoy the adventure...

Made the trip today over to Lazy Days in the rain. Checked website before going and 2 QS were available. Only 1 was there and it was sold and was being prepped for delivery. Salesman took me out to see it. It was the 8' QS. The unit was set up with the lights and A/C running. Glad I made the trip as I got to see it, touch it, and stand in it. As for the size it actual fits my needs as well as being lighter in weight than the 10'er which is a big factory or my vehicle. Now I can stop looking as I don't think I'll find anything better. As for the salesman he was very helpful and applied no pressure nor did he run out and bring back management to strong arm me. He went over details of the unit and provided me an order foam and said when I was ready we could place the order over the phone and negotiate the price. I asked if there was much wiggle room and he said maybe 6 to 8%. Now I've got some thinking to do! Thanks gwbushhog for the recommendation!

[p]So glad the trip to LDays was a positive one!  Now that you've caught the 'scent' and the chase has begun, here's a link to a new QS8[strong] CORRECTION, it's QS6[/strong] but a '13.  It's up Hilton Head way and while some may not care for the color, I absolutely LOVE it, (guess living in Florida for 26 years will do it!)  Anyway, while this QS may not be the one for you, its price probably is ($7,040.17) and may prove helpful to you as leverage in LDays negotiations.  Here's the link (hat tip to 'RideandFly' on our sister LivinLiteForum.com): [/p][p]
[/p][p][a href="http://www.boatnrv.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&id=946278&p=1&make=livinlite&s=Year&d=D&t=new&fr=xNewInventory"]http://www.boatnrv.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&id=946278&p=1&make=livinlite&s=Year&d=D&t=new&fr=xNewInventory[/a][/p][p]
[/p][p]As owners of a toyhauler, we won't be much help with questions on the QS, but there are many QS owners on this proboard and you will find them to be handy, informed and always willing to help...for that matter, most all LivinLite owners are this way.  [/p][p]
[/p][p]HAVE FUN!

Definitely try searchtempest.com or yakaz.com for used units. I found a 2006 for an awesome deal. I would be less inclined to buy a used conventional pop up, but Quicksilvers are so simple and not a lot of failure issues. You still have bearings, tires and brakes (if the unit has them).
