Title: Quickly make beds on our quicksilvers
Post by: husaberger on May 19, 2015, 05:23:45 PM
My wife usually makes the beds, she gets in, puts sheets on, etc before we all can move in.

I had to camp alone with kids, I found a better way, it didn't go over well with my wife as I had the idea to do it.

open the quicksilver, put the end poles up, then put the sheets on the beds, THEN open up the camper and fasten.
no more climbing in, pulling up corners, and jumping back at the same time to fit the sheets on.

Repeat on other end then pull the other end up.

DONE.

Of course! What other way is there?  Quick way to take down as well.  We do sometimes get a bit of debris on the bed when opening up the canvas - and sometimes a spider. But it's a lot easier to brush them off than to climb in the camper and make beds!

Same here, making beds before canvas goes up is now standard procedure. It took a few trips before we wised up though.
We used to do the whole bed sheet deal now we just slap on the mattress pad and sleeping bags.

Holy cats! You make beds? We use sleeping bags. We have a fitted bottom sheet on our queen mattress and all we do is toss the sleeping bags and pillows on the bed. They're stored in one of the benches. Making beds sounds so...civilized?  :D (rofl)

Chuck893: yeah :)  I don't like climbing into a sleeping bag, I like a sheet on the bed, a down blanket on top of me, free as a bird, allowing me to sleep however I want.

most of the time the sleeping bag makes me very restricted for some reason.
too hot, no problem.  cold, just snuggle

on my sleeping bag,  ZIP open, ZIP Close - wait... dang zipper is caught.

Often we just use the bags like comforters, but when it gets really chilly (tiny electric heater notwithstanding) we will zip in PLUS add a big blankie on top, and SOME people STILL complain of freezing to death!  (rofl)
