Just the center part that cover the end of the axle. Where could I find a replacement? I am worried the dirt will get in there and contaminate the grease - in fact this has happened most likely already.

you will have to measure the other one to be sure. dexter looks expensive though, i would go the etrailer or amazon route
ended up ordering a couple from dexter directly, because this measuring magic is too unpredictable to guarantee the fit. $20 with the shipping, yes, expensive. But I realized that my original dust caps were not original it seems, so now I will upgrade :)

[/p][p]If you purchase big box store generic Bearing Buddies, beware, they may or may not fit. A number of years ago I was in the process of installing them and I discovered that they were too large for the axel. Maybe 5 or 10 thousands over, but I don't remember the specifics as it's been 20 years or so. Anyway, I ended up chucking them up in the lathe and turning them to a workable diameter. You don't really want a sledgehammer fit as they need to be removed to service the axle. Also, you should make sure that the axle is fitted with double lipped grease seals. Single lip seals are more apt to leak when it's subjected to the pressure from the Bearing Buddy. And, while I'm thinking of grease seals, here's a tip for the E-Z Lube axels. If you are going to utilize the E-Z greasing function, do it in hot weather, the hotter the better. Also, lay the tubs(s) of grease in the sun. Jack the wheel off the ground and rotate the wheel as you slowly inject the grease. This should keep the seals from being compromised. [/p]
