Heater control

When I first looked for my heater control, I thought it was missing.  I then located it behind the television and under the television arms.  How is one to use the control when you have to extend the television arms all the way out and then push around the corner before you can even see it?

What an odd place to put those controls. Seems really weird that they would put them behind the TV.
