Resell Values on CampLites

Hi all:

I have a 2014 21BHS, I am always pondering current values and checking on them every now and then. I think i would be interested in a CampLite 5th wheel one day, has any of those been sold, no activity on any boards it seems, I digress.

Back to my point. Has anyone with a newer CampLite even asked what trade allowances are on anything you are considering next. Well I have and it seems just like a car dealership, they only want to offer wholesale.

I've tried this will numerous RV dealers local and across the nation. My experience  is my unit is nothing more than a 21 foot trailer. That fact that it is all aluminum, no wood, no steel has no bearing. Unless you have done this (checked out the value on your unit), you may not know this to be true, or maybe you had better luck. What is more scary is people who sell CampLite's didn't far to much better in allowances and sometimes worse. Some saw pics of my unit, most don't. Most don't ask about options, most didn't care. Only one asked, still didn't make a difference. I can say 500 miles max, 3 months ownership, virtually new. Nothing really moved the needle.

With the volume of units out there, such as the 21BHS and 21BRS and others, is it enough to create the perception of quality, uniqueness, rarity amounting to high resell value or a niche opposite where value is exchanged only among ourselves? When buying, a dealer will say its an Airstream at 1/2 price, but when trading its only a 21 foot trailer.

I have learned so far you can have a different experience from one dealer to the next, and I know I am understating that a whole lot.

But the reason this concerns me is my unit is only 4 months old (well titled to me for 4 months) its a new 2014, built in 2013.

I get depcreciation once purchased. But based on numbers I'm seeing, i would like to get some feedback from current owners. Is it possible that my unit will trend up in value over time???????? I don't know we will see.

Im actually interested in a 5th wheel CampLite, so this started my journey. I'm in no hurry, but like to keep a tab on values.

i think as CampLite owners it would be good if a few went through this process. If the average price on the 21bhs/21rbs is 27-28K new for 2014 units, yet numbers of 16-19k is offered, how do you feel about that for a camper like this. And you must be able to extract that number from any new deal to get at what the "RV" market is saying it is truly worth.

Any comments are welcomed good, bad, or ugly. i love my unit, and the only one I love better at this point is a CampLite 5th wheel. If they didn't have a fifth wheel, i wouldn't be writing this post:)

Thanks
Ken

2014 Livin Lite 21 BHS

One CampLite dealer offered me 60% of the price I paid new for my camper on a trade-in. LivinLite builds tough & durable campers.
We decided to keep our tough little camper and wait to buy a larger one day. If we can't sell it for what it's worth,
will probably keep it.

Here's the NADA value of a used 2013 21BHS:

I think the Camplite's will have more value in seven to ten  years when compared to most other trailers.  One dealer, who was showing us an Airstream, said that most other trailers have a lifespan of about ten to twelve years; they simply don't age well.   Camplites won't be musty with rusty frames like the other ones on the dealer's used rv lot down the road, and customers will reward their longevity with higher purchase prices.    In time,  Livinlite's  reputation will be better known.   At least that is what I think, and why I am considering purchasing one.

Have not been to their dealership, yet.
They certainly appear to be the least expensive in the country.  I would also look at [a href="http://dhrvcenter.com/"]http://dhrvcenter.com/[/a] and [a href="http://www.leosrv.com"]www.leosrv.com[/a]  as they are both closer.  The guys near you are quite a good dealership from what I have read on these forums, all be it a little pricey.  Just remember, in the RV business, there are no requirements that a dealer who did not sell you the trailer has to work on it for you or not bill you above what LL may pay them to do the warranty work, unlike the automobile industry.  I went with Leos as they are actually closer than DHR (driving time) for me and were willing to negotiate better.  But everything I have heard about DHR says you would be happy with them if you are near them.  Just go beat them up!!  As for LeosRv, I asked a local RV dealership about them and they said they order parts from them all the time...  I am near Virginia Beach and Leos is in southern Maryland.  Interesting that they also wholesale parts it looks like. Leos also has that rv warranty forever program that could be interesting to you.  It will work for me.
Good info!

kenofchattanooga, DH RV Center has a 2014 26RLS 5th wheel for sale.

funpilot

I saw that 5th wheel when I visited them.  If I had a TV that could pull a fifth wheel, I would have left with that one. I did not see any of that model for sale on rvtrader by the way (just looked)...That is one worth going to look at.

livinthegoodlife

We too have looked at the Fifth Wheel, but are waiting to hear from anyone that has one. Are they happy with it? How do they pull? Any problems with them?  We are considering work camping and would need something bigger down the road.  These units are of great interest to us.
