The other day I was cruising the local wally worlds and stumbled across a clearance item that I thought had to be mismarked. I made a quick video about it below but the short story is I now have one of the Coleman stove top coffee makers for $9 dollars! Thats right just $9 bucks when normally these things go for between 40 to 50 any other day of the week. I don't know why it was on clearance but I don't ask questions of a deal like this. Now my only hope is that it works as well as I hope it does. Here is the video have a look:

Hi Sean -- seems like a good deal! Our friends we often camp with have one. I recall it is somewhat flimsy and broken although functionally it continues to work. I'd suggest building a box to store it or maybe getting a suitable plastic storage box. I'm suspecting our friends one was damaged in storage rather than in use. Have a box to protect it and it might work well for years & years.

Sean - [a href="http://www.designstop.com/2012/08/classy-camping-coffee.html"]>> here's an old blog entry I wrote about my own classy camping coffee maker <<[/a]. You should get one to add to your coffee equipment. Nothing like a nice mukka-cappuccino to start your day off right at the campsite!

It feels sturdy enough but some nonfunctional parts are cheap. The lid over the water tank for example is a cheap plastic lid which feels flimsy. At this point in still partial to the simplistic French press but this looks to be more convenient for larger quantity.

I don't know if I have the mental faculties in the morning to make a mukka cappuccino despite it looking delicious.

Hey that's pretty sweet.

About ten years back we started doing a French Press camping....our coffee is actually camping!

That is a very sweet deal.  I happen to have two of them.  My sisters (five of us and usually 2 friends) go camping every September.  We are all heavy duty coffee drinkers.  I have found these pots to be the easiest and quickest way to get a cup of joe in the morning.  Tastes just like home drip.  One thing you need to be aware of is the little lever that is in the back of the carafe has to be in place. (I think pushed in all the way).  don't become complacent and not check it the sixth time you make coffee because you haven't had any problems - because that's when you'll find your pot empty and your stove full of coffee.  :)  (the lever is what allows you to pull out the carafe for a quick cup before the pot is full.
I think we paid close to $50. for each.  Good Job!

You might ask a FEW questions, like "is this thing made from anything toxic or radioactive?"
