the wife likes to read at night and we wanted to minimize the light to keep from waking our daughter up.  so i mounted a small led spot light ([a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002X8GCG8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]led spot light[/a]) and pointed it at the bed.  i pulled power an ground from the nearby light fixture and wired it through a fairly standard automotive style switch (have used these for a couple projects now - [a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NUA2258/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]switch[/a]). wanted to mount the switch near the bed but getting the azdel off the walls and running the wires became problematic with the way the trim for the bed opening holds it all in place

[p]My Nook is backlit and dimmable. I also have [a href="http://www.rei.com/product/878205/black-diamond-gizmo-headlamp?s_kwcid=sIkNuZJkg_dc|pcrid|34213930325|pkw|gizmo%20headlamp|pmt|e|google|main|NB&gclid=COjvqon0pcUCFdSTfgodGBgA3Q"]a headlamp that is dimmable[/a].[/p][p]
[/p][p]For those of us too lazy to make a mod, that is.[/p]

thuddr3, where did you get the curtains?  And how are they mounted?  They look like they're snapped above the window and then have a strap to hold them rolled up. We have a VRV 7x20 with 3 windows.  I've cut an insert of construction bubble wrap with reflective surfaces to block the light, but am looking for suitable curtains (or patterns) and how to hang them.

That is the tip-out bunk cover, not a curtain.

evin...as bill pointed out...that is the bunk cover that comes with the vrv.  it keeps the mattress/bedding from falling out when you flip the bunk up

i did make a blackout curtain for the window on the other side of the camper.  it is made from 2 pieces of dark , thick cloth and has a polariz rzr flag sewn on it just because.  it snaps down to s
aps screwed into the aluminum framing around the window.  added a couple velcro straps to roll it up and secure it

As I'm a real bookworm your idea seems very useful for me! I gonna put it in my camper

Got it.  Our mattress is on a Happi-Jac automatic bed so it goes up to the ceiling.  I've hung a curtain panel which works nicely.  Thank you.  thuddr3, I saw your cool blackout curtain!
