Wood in 21BHS Doors

Someone jammed a different key into our door lock and messed up the lock for the door, luckily the bottom lock or deadbolt was not touched so we can still lock the door. Today I took the lock out to get it fixed and behold WOOD! It appears the entire door has a very thin plywood layer the aluminum is glued to??
See pics attached; I think LL is false advertising when they say no wood etc.

That is a bit misleading.  LivinLite does not make the outer door, so nothing THEY make has wood, but it is misleading to say no wood in the camper.  The rear doors in their toy haulers also have wood.

I've heard this before, but never actually saw it myself. It's a bummer, but I think like the countertop material it's hard to find an alternative and they use it sparingly. It would be awesome if they could eliminate ALL wood though... maybe if we keep hunting it down and bugging them about it.

Sorry, but this is flat out misrepresentation, what else is hiding out there that is false regarding their specs? They are charging a premium for their products and not telling the truth. I guess we need to ask what is the definition of is!
For the most part I am happy with camper but just frustrated I paid extra for something I did not get, a wood free camper.

It's a Challenger Door. Mine has some type of wood in the entry door, too. It's a welded aluminum square tube frame door, Styrofoam insulation, plastic interior sheet, about 1/8" thin sheet of wood or luan, and sheet metal skinned exterior.   If I ever take the door apart, plan to remove the wood.

'15, but like you, we discovered that there was 'wood' in our cargo door before the ink on the sales order was dry.  We did make noise about it and even wanted to rescind the deal.  We made sure that LL prez, Scott Tuttle, was aware of our disappointment, that we felt their product had been misrepresented.  [/p][p]
[/p][p]In summary, LL knows all about this.  But it would not hurt for you to let your voice be heard.  We've accepted the fact that the doors and tip-outs have wood or luan.  Even so, we have decided to be content and now believe that we can be worry-free with our LL trailer in spite of the hot, humid Florida climate, rain and sun.  We DO intend to watch and regularly maintain all seals, and protect it as best we can.  But we won't  fret over this any longer.  [/p][p]
[/p][p]Admittedly, you have had somewhat of a rocky start with your new trailer, IMO.  But you have a good product, not perfect because nothing is.  But you've been a smart consumer, and you have a good trailer.   Determine to enjoy it, 'cuz life is short and the fret'n just ain't worth it.   I'll get down from my pedestal now.   [/p][p]

Agreed I will be determined to enjoy it and will.

Its the world we live in now, but when it does come time for me to sell it I will not be telling folks it is wood free!

More wood sweet!.... but compared to my last trailer it has 0.01% of the wood.  

I agree it is not wood free and this is a misrepresentation.  But speaking relatively, a standard 21 foot camper is mostly or completely framed of wood, has a wood floor and wood interior.  These are what rot, floors, walls and roofs. The support structure, frame and floor of the trailer are wood free, these are the parts that count.  

I can think of a half dozen alternatives.  Fiberglass wrapped composite comes right to mind.  Heck just a sheet of 1/8 inch polycarbonate would work to replace the wood in the door.

But I KNOW the parts assembled by Livin Lite are as absolutely wood free as they possibly can make them.  This is why I bought a camp lite trailer.

The reason we purchased the CampLite was the aluminum floor & structure. Our previous camper had floor rot, no issues with our CampLite!
