Bunk bed weight limit

Is the weight capacity on the upper bunk really only 125lbs?  Is this a legitimate weight limit or more of a liability type limit?  Has anyone tried reinforcing theirs to handle say 200lbs?

Ive had someone about 150 pounds sleep there several times.

Where did you see that limit?

I saw it called out in some of the ads I've seen.  And you can see the warning label in some of the pics if you zoom in.  it looks like the actual limit is 150 instead of 125 but I swear I have seen both depending on which model year I was looking at.
