Hi from Texas!

We are grateful for this site and have learned so much from everyone's posts. We purchased a Livin' Lite Bearcat 8.1 tent camper last year. It was on our "list of things to do" when my husband retired. It has been his dream to go camping some day. I'm a "city girl", so did not know what to think of this dream of his, but I happily went along because his happiness is very important to me. Well imagine my surprise (and delight!) to learn that I LOVE camping! Now mind you I do not think I'd love roughing it in a tent on the ground. But the Bearcat tent camper is wonderfully comfortable, and I felt really safe and secure in it (from bugs and critters, etc). The only thing I did NOT like about camping was having to creep out at night to use the campground restroom facility. We decided to upgrade, and we now own a Camplite 11FK with the optional tip out bed. Oh the joys of having a toilet and shower on board! We are SO happy, and though we haven't been able to camp as often as we want, the few times we have gone we've been in heaven. We've mostly camped in state parks here in Texas (traveled down to the Davis Mountains and to Palo Duro Canyon), but recently tried a state park in Arkansas (Lake Ouachita). Since my husband is retired we are blessed to be able to go during the week. Most times there's hardly anyone else around us and we feel like we've got the entire state park to ourselves. It's really restful. Wish I had discovered how wonderful camping was sooner, but as they say, better late than never! :-)

I'm thinking about a porta-potty for raining mornings, but an 11FK sounds great, too, someday. :-)
