I think 8 - 10 hours is my limit, depending on traffic.

8-10 hours no problem.  Last summer did 16 hours from Myrtle Beach with my 7 year old son peeing in a big mouth ice tea bottle while stuck in George Washington Bridge traffic.  My family of 5 decided that was outside our limits:D

Last summer we did a 34 day road trip (6317 miles) from Tennessee to Utah and Arizona then back. I'm the only driver, so we tried to stay under 300 miles a day. Most days it was closer to 225. That worked really well for us (hubby and 9 year old daughter.) Two or three hours in the morning. Break for lunch, a couple of more hours and then still have time to explore in the late afternoon and evening. Didn't stay too long in one place though. Will probably try to drive a bit more on a few days next summer to be able to stay longer in one place.

My daily mileage travel target is 200 miles en-route to destinations. Some days a little less some days a little more, depends on spacing of Army Corps of Engineers, State Park, and Federal campgrounds. The 200 mile target allows for later morning departures and plenty of daylight (during summer) to set up camp at the next campground.

We stay at many campgrounds only one night on weekdays and always stay Friday & Saturday nights at the same campground on weekends. Have driven as little as 125 miles in a day towing (multi week trips)  and the maximum amount of miles driven while towing so far is 410 miles (due to snow forecast on the next day). Once we reach destination campgrounds normally stay 4 to 5 days. On our last trip loop out west had 3 destination campgrounds en-route, put about 8,000 miles on the tow vehicle and around 6,000 on the Mighty 11.

Most of my trips are 4-6 hours depending on what race track and traffic. I try and time my trips so I miss any kind of rush hour traffic.

This is a good question!  ::)  Been fun seeing what other folks consider 'normal'. Due to limited time off, we do balls-to-the-wall trips to the Gaspe area of Quebec from the midwest, and drive 12-15 hours 2 days in a row coming & going so we can slow down when we get there. Those nights are generally spent in a hotel, because setting up camp takes time away from the drive. Then we camp (usually by tent) but have had a small U-Haul fiberglass camper in some years past. We also do eastern Nebraska to Denver round trips in a day so not strangers to long hauls. We do like to slow down & do stop-along-the-way days within a 100 mile radius so it's all a matter of where we are to explore  :D

I listen to the "Living the RV Dream" Podcast with John and Kathy Huggins.  They are long time/Full time RVers who are very knowledgeable about RVing and the industry.  They frequently talk about their personal rule of at 300 miles or 3PM whichever comes first they start looking for a place to stop for the night.  I haven't done enough long trips to find my personal RV towing limit, but that seems like solid advice to me.   Tired drivers are as dangerous as drunk drivers.
