Route from Richmond VA to Maine

HELP!!!!  We are outside of Richmond Va heading to Belfast Maine. Google maps have us going on the MERRIT PARKWAY !!!???  We know we can't.

We have tried to ask Good Sam ( I am a  roadside member ), but must be doing something wrong.

Does anyone out there know how we get our trailer on the proper level of the George Washington Bridge and  then how to proceed up towards New England ??

Once, a long ,long time ago, I knew how to do this. 

We will leave early tomorrow morning, so don't be shy about getting back to me ASAP !!!!

Trailers are prohibited on the Merrit Parkway.  Travel up 95.

I would avoid the 95 corridor from Philadelphia to NYC at almost all costs. You could circle around to the west, the route is longer but less stressful.
