Rear View Mirror Extensions?

Has anyone using a Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar size SUV as a tow vehicle needed to add rear view mirror extenders when towing a 7' wide Camplite?

I use those mirror with my Ford Escape and they are really good, you can find them on amazon.

Nissan Frontier here...probably very similar in width to your cherokee.   When I got the camper in July I got a mirror from amazon.   I actually thought it was a pair I was ordering, but realized it was only one when the package arrived.  I tried it on the passenger side mirror as I thought that would be more helpful than the driver's side if I had to back up or something.  After towing a few times I realized I could see well enough without it if I adjusted my regular mirrors out just a bit.    It does take a minute or two to put on and get positioned tight. It's not a big deal, but just one more thing to do when getting ready to tow.  I would probably use it on an extended trip or if I knew I had to back up without a helper, but for now it just sits in the corner of my garage unused.   Put it this way:  I'm not ordering another one to make it a pair any time soon.

Edit to add:  If you are serious about mirror extensions you should google around.   There are aftermarket replacement mirrors (not temporary ones, but you actually remove your stock mirrors and replace with a larger one).   They are larger and telescope out like on a larger pickup like F350.   I think they'd be more user friendly, but obviously cost more.   They are available for nissans, I'm not sure about Jeeps, but I think it's likely there's a product out there.

Icebear tows with a Jeep Grand Cherokee, as I do. He posted about using McKesh mirrors that you fasten to the side of the driver's and passenger's doors. I intend to order a set once I take a break from traveling and get back home. In the meantime, I will be relying on a rear-facing camera I had installed on the back bumper of my Camplite.

I am looking for icebear's post. Once I find it, I will reference it here. Perhaps icebear will read this and beat me to it.

Our 14DBS is 7' wide. We tow with a Toyota 4Runner.

I don't worry about mirrors that show the other lane, as I have them set to show me where my trailer's wheels are.

Mind you, I can still see what's there to make a lane change. You just have to, you know, turn your head and look, instead of use the mirror.

But in any case I find it more important to know whether my trailer is drifting into the other lane before the TV is.

Jeep Grand Cherokee with 14DBS. We use the Milenco Aero 2. Like them very much.  Sometimes don't use them on short drives around town, but always use when traveling away.  They come in a handy travel bag.  We also have a rear view camera and it's not been a huge benefit except for the audio when backing in.
