Just started our long journey, and noticed that we occasionally get mysterious water near the commode. It's been going on since we bought this BRAND NEW trailer, but I finally realized the source of my problem. Seems that the right hand bolt that holds the toilet is just spinning around and is not attached to the floor !!
I am on the road, so I will try and remedy this myself. Has anyone out there ever removed their toilet? What surprises await me, when I try and figure out what's going on ?
It's always something.......

P.S.
Never mind. I googled it and watched some you tube. got it

So is it mounted like a residential unit? Any type of wax ring or seal or does it just mount directly to a flange on the tank?

We removed our toilet when we put in our floor. You have to be very careful when replacing it onto the seal. It is just a foam seal. If not placed back on the seal correctly, the seal will crinkle and will leak.  Had it happen and had a mess until we took it off again and placed it back the way it should have been.

I removed the toilet today in hopes of a quick fix. We are on the first leg of a BIG trip. The flange was, indeed, broken where the T bolt goes in, so the toilet was never tight to the floor. I called Dometic and was told it was a standard ? toilet flange. I went to pull it out and FOUND IT WAS SILICONED IN AT THE FACTORY !!! Something that should take no time at all has become a nightmare. I have calls into my dealer and to Don at Livinlite for recommendations. I am at a loss.

OK. When I removed the existing flange, I determined that I could reuse it by rotating it 90 degrees. I had used a " washing machine " motion to uplift the piece. I had a little difficulty in reinserting the down pipe back into the rubber gasket that surrounds the hole in the " black tank".  Wish I had thought of just rotating the flange earlier.  When I spoke to Jacob at D&H, he suggested that I load up the gasket with vaseline ( I had already tried liquid soap ). Worked like a charm. Now I have a solid installation and , hopefully, no more leaks. If you ever have to remove/replace your toilet, do not fear. It isn't that difficult.
