We are preparing the trailer to go on a two month trip to Maine. One of our sites doesn't have sewer. We have purchased a Barker 32 gal Tote n Store, but, as I asked in another thread in February, I am at a loss as to how to transport the unit.

We have beefed up the rear bumper and installed a Swagman bike rack in the middle of the trailer, ( btw  this is a GREAT bike rack ). I am thinking of either coming up with some way to bracket the tote on the right side of the rear bumper, which would necessitate locating framing members, OR building some type of horizontal rack over the LP tanks like they sell for mounting a generator. The Tote isn't exactly lightweight.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?? The wife isn't keen on me transporting said cart inside the Suburban, even if I wrap it up well.

Happy Trails.........

I feel your pain as we have one ourselves and transport it in the bed of our pick-up truck. It's light enough tilt would travel well on the bumper of the camper if you could figure out how to mount it. I roll mine to the dump station in the campgrounds when i need to dump the tanks.

Does you Suburban have a roof rack and is it too heavy/cumbersome to put up top? Is it too thick to slide under the trailer if you build a rack somewhere under there? Overall do you need to add or subtract tongue weight? That might determine whether you go rear bumper or over the tanks.

I already have a Yakima carrier on the roof of my Suburban. Even empty, it would be a challenge to put the Tote on the TV's roof. I will order a Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray which mounts over the LP tanks. I will secure the Tote to the tray when traveling. If I ever get a Yamaha generator, I will install it on the tray when we set up camp. Thanks for your input.
