Our propane leak detector has another function. When our younger dog is eager to go out, he sits or lies down by the door right next to the detector. To his consternation, he does something (general stink, etc.?) that sets it off briefly. At least he doesn't have to bark or scratch at the door to go out.

There is a very small black "test" button near the bottom of mine that I seemed to hit with our trash can every so often.  I wonder if you dog hits it when he is next to it?

Let's take a poll.

Everyone who thinks the dog sets off the propane detector by farting, say "AYE".

Everyone who thinks the dog sets off the propane detector by pushing a button that nobody knows about, say "NO".

Aye, a spray of OFF can set off my gas sector in my Quicksilver. So my guess would be methane right next to the detector could set it off.

AYE.

(Looks like the AYES have it.)

Darn.....I lose again!

The AYES are above the NOES.
