[p]Lots of wasted space under the fridge in the 16DB. Decided to put some of it to use. Added an access door and a grommet hole to pass a high pressure gas line through. Now, the second LP tank I added is permanently connected. I leave the Charbroil x200 regulator connected to it and store it in there to keep it free of contamination. Here's the pics..[/p][p]

Hmmm!! I can think of a couple of problems with that installation.

Did you tee into the fridge's propane connection in the vented enclosure on the outside of the trailer. I hope so. All propane tees should be made outside of the trailer envelope. The only connection should be made at the stove, water heater, furnace, fridge and the latter are external or vented to the outside.

I wouldn't vent inside. Vent outside which you already have with the cover. Seal any penetrations of the hose through the trailer's envelope with caulking so any leak goes outside. It is much better to safely vent a propane leak than to detect one.

And finally I don't like that big ball valve handle. Too easy to bounce around inside and turn on. How about using one of these: http://www.amazon.com/PneumaticPlus-MMTH-25-Brass-Valves-Female/dp/B0086QTYPW/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1430513491&sr=8-8&keywords=brass+ball+valve

Propane is serious stuff!!!

Thanks for weighing in, David.

The valve I chose is made specically for this application. First it has the spring loaded ball that only opens when the male fitting is inserted. Second it has the ball valve itself. Third it has a gate that will not allow the quick disconnect to separate if the valve is on. So it has levels of protection.

I think you may have missed the part where this is a high presuure line to feed appliances that are already regulated.  There is no tee because the trailer has no high pressure line. This line comes straight from the second tongue mounted LP tank that is dedicated to it. The tank is only opened for cooking on the grill. Since we got to a site late last night this is our maiden voyage using it.

I viewed a trailer that had this added option and it seems to be implemented in the same way as I have done here. I thought my idea of a sniffer vent was a bonus but after digesting your take maybe I'll reconsider it.

Thanks again!

Yes, I read that it was a high pressure hose but didn't process it. And the valve you used should be safe. So I am now batting 333 ;-).

I'm just happy to get any knowledgeable input at all, David. I do listen closely here. You folks are a substantial asset with a lot of know how.

My biggest fear is the hose rotting, splitting or loosening at the crimp. All this besides Rocky the raccoon rolling across the right lane after meeting Mr. Peterbuilt...

Seriously though, the proximity to the refer makes cause for some serious consideration. This line will be inspected regularly and replaced every 4 years. $15 is a small price to pay.

[p]This mod worked out well this weekend. I enjoyed it a lot. If I didn't know better I'd say the grill ran better, hotter and faster. Placebo effect I'm sure. On the trip home we stopped by an Army Corps of Engineers dam and lake with a great trail network for running. while we were out the place filled with people. No tables or grills available. No problem. We only needed two parking spots for some great burgers.
