you know that compartment under the trailer that holds the waste pipe!  how long a pipe will it hold?
That depends on what type of hose and whether it includes end adapters and couplers. The OEM tube is generally too short for any usable hose. The defacto standard hose has become the RhinoFlex 15 foot kit including bayonet coupler, right angle bend, and threaded sewer adapter. These will easily fit in a 60" SaniTube from D&W Industries [a href="https://www.dwincorp.com/categories/7/Sanitubes-Sewer-Hose-Carriers"]https://www.dwincorp.com/categories/7/Sanitubes-Sewer-Hose-Carriers[/a] but other carriers are available. The longer tube requires remounting, usually on the opposite side of the trailer, but this is an easy job requiring only common hand tools. If you have room, which you should have on your 8.5x22, I'd recommend a 62" tube or the new slider which will also hold a 45 degree clear angle adapter so you can see what's happening during flushing operations.

thanks, Charliem.......I am considering the Sewer Solution......looks like something that would clean and flush at the same time......especially for the not so frequent user. anyone have any experience with this?  [a href="http://http://rv101.tv/2013/09/05/rv-sewer-solution-by-valterra-products/"]link[/a]

It might be tricky fitting the sewer solution in the tube. A tub or bucket would probably be more appropriate.
No experience with Sewer Solution. You might consider adding a black tank back flusher if you don't already have one. They work well, are inexpensive, and relatively easy to install.
