New owner Quicksilver 6.0

[p]Hello,[/p][p]May name is Mark, I'm just a generic every day Joe who likes to camp, I live in AZ. and am lucky enough to be able to camp all year around (no camping in the Valley during the summer to hot, have to head to the high country in the summer)  any way , I guess I'm kind of typical, I have camped in tents 95% of the time unless I'm solo then I have been known to sleep in the back of my 90 Jeep Cherokee , my criteria was pretty simple  1. dry and out of the rain, 2. off the ground 3. have to be able to stand up.  4. lite weight towable with med size SUV, I wanted minimum amenities , no water tanks , no sinks  no perm. toilet  I just wanted the basics, [/p][p] [/p][p]  I settled on the Quicksilver 6.0 with off road package (not the Jeep version) [/p][p]everything I need  nothing I don't.[/p][p]So hello to all, I have a few questions  but this is member introduction so I will post  my questions  on a separate post.[/p]

Hi Mark, welcome from a fellow AZ also. I bought a QS 10 last year and have been out a little during the bow season with my Grandson. Hoping to be out using it through out the year allot more. Especially to the high country to get out of the heat this summer.

Welcome Mark. I also have a QS6 for almost all the same reasons as you. You live in a state that is made for off-road camping. I am sure you will take advantage of your QS6

update !!
 I have now used my Quicksilver 6.0 -  5 times could not be happier !! I love it !! it tows behind my 2008 Torrent like a dream most the time I do not know it's there  these are not complaints just observations. #1  I have 2 lame shoulders and solo set up while possible is difficult, I wish there were a spring assist or something on the bunk to make solo set up a little easier #2 the battery platform should have some side support mine came loose and snapped a bolt head off I noticed it in time to prevent a catastrophe and I have since added 2 simple L brackets to eliminate that problem, I boondock 99% of the time and seek places where there are no other people, the 6.0 is perfect for this as I can nestle it in between the pines, if I am not skillful enough to back it in (I'm getting better) its light enough  the Mrs. and I can push it where it needs to go !!  I have the off road kit with 15 inch tires so it rolls very easy. So far it is everything I hoped for, because of the quality all aluminum construction I believe this little camper will out live me and still be in service for my Grand kids. on a scale from 1-100
I'm giving it a 98 deducting 2 points for the battery tray.
 I would highly recommend this pop up to anybody looking for a well built, simple no frills pop up,  I say simple no frills but believe when looking at it it is the Cadillac of pop ups with its mag wheels and diamond plate trim !!

Welcome and glad you're enjoying the 6.0. I've camped 10 nights since I bought mine in May, and solo setup is rough. I wouldn't be able to do it without the rear deck.

I also move it into place by hand. I can't back it up to save my life....yet.

Mark, we had a 6.0 & sold it to a lady who needed some assist with setting up. I rigged up a 6-8' PVC pole to hold the bed short of half way up. Then attach a carabiner with webbing to the support legs hardware. With one hand you finish pushing the bed past the tipping point and lower with the webbing. Similar in the reserve to close. My wife wishes I had come up with this sooner she might taken the camper on trips without me. Once retired I plan visiting your home state for some camping. Enjoy!
