Newbie to Livin Lite forum and Camplite trailers

[span]    [/span]We are new to this forum and also have on order a 14DBS travel trailer!
[span]    [/span]We did extensive research into all the available trailers and was looking at a smaller 14 to 16 ft. model, since it is just my wife and I.
[span]    [/span]So many trailers are of the conventional wood framed construction, and having past experience with a truck camper rotting out before I knew it, we decided on the Camplite 14DBS. We liked all the features on it such as the solid floor, large storage tanks, LED lighting, dry bath, dual axles (for braking safety), large refridge, etc. But after looking at so many travel trailers at our nearby RV show, the thing that clinched it for us was the slide-out dinette! It really adds space to the "livin' area" so to speak. And the large 54" window really adds a wonderful view!
[span]    [/span]I am a member of other forums such as garden tractors, old farm equipment, etc. I read of the discussions on forum topics here and all are good. And keeping it simple is also the best thing to do. Having topics that cover things common to all the different models Livin Lite offers, may simplify things a little. May I offer some suggestions for common topics such as "electrical", "plumbing", "LP gas systems", "appliances", "frame and axles", might help organise some of the discussions.

[font size="3"][font face="arial"]Welcome to our LL forum. Just getting started, but it's off to a good start. You will love the 14DBS for all the reasons you cited and more. Re the organization ideas, it's difficult to chose the best method. The models are very similar, yet different. The electrical and plumbing issues are similar, yet different. So either way will be good for some, not as good for others. On the highlighting edits, I can copy and paste with no problems. Don't know why you're having a problem, but I'm sure you'll work it out. It's just software  . Again, welcome, and enjoy our country from inside and outside your Camplite.

[/p][p]By the way, welcome from another 14DBS owner, we had much the same requirements and reaction as you. We had been on-and-off shopping for RV's for several years, including considering the smaller class B+'s. Just us and the hounds. We rented trailers the last two years running, a 19' Funseeker, and an RPOD 178 (I think - the one with the dinette in the front and the kitchen slideout). Both struck as heavy and the build quality of the particle board "wood" was....underwhelming. I will say the floor plan of the RPOD's is nice. But the crapper is like an airline bathroom, without the elbow room. Nice try, could have been sooooo much awesome. If they used the aluminum construction on an RPOD design and fixed the bathroom, that'd be a winner. Alas, not to be.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Both trips out with the rentals, my wife was a nervous wreck every time the trailer bounced. The 14DBS is sooooo much smoother pulling. Normally she gets her anxiety up so much that she can't enjoy the trip until later. During the trip, she's often in "take me home, this sucks" mode, switching to "that was fun" afterwards.[/p][p]
[/p][p]This time, with the 14DBS, even though we had some serious shakedown issues, she was positive and happy the whole time. That speaks volumes.[/p][p]
[/p][p]It all crystalized last year at an RV show where we saw the 14DBS, and we weren't ready to make the decision then. We let the dealership know we were interested later in the year when stock was sold out. They called us when this year's order came in, and hey presto ! we have a trailer.[/p][p]
