I did not notice the unit had no electrical outlets from the kitchen back the when we purchased the rig. I am planning on hiring an electrician to wire up one outlet per bunk. Has anyone done this? I know there is one behind the microwave, but do not know how safe that will be. What about using the breaker and wire from the water heater since I plan to only use the gas? Any ideas will help.

[font size="3"]Either tapping onto the micro line or using the WH circuit will work. Either way, I would suggest installing Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets. Codes don't require them except near water, but in a metal camper I like the idea, especially if kids are involved. Also keep in mind that whichever circuit you use will be limited to 15 Amps total. That might be a consideration if you plan to run something like a 1500 watt portable heater on the new outlets.

I have been wondering this exact thing. If you get it sorted out fully, I would like to hear what you decided.

The bad thing with the 21 bhs is the tv/radio/ant control is located all the way up front above the bed. I ran the coax cable along ceiling behind the angled metal piece that runs from front to the radio. I had to remove the microwave and the back panel in the cabinet behind the radio to get coax to the wall connecting the kitchen and the bunks. Behind the microwave is a single outlet that I used for the power source. Installed a junction box so I could send power to both bunk outlets. After much time fooling around with coax and splitters, I finally have the ability to have all three TV's on ant, cable, and units DVD player.

Nice work! Looks like it was a big job. We have a 21BHS as well, so I know that it's a long ways back there from the source in the front of the trailer. Should work well for you. Enjoy!
