Hi everyone!

Well.... the last two "camping trips" were only "half camping", considering we stayed outside my parents house at the lake.
We've just arrived earlier this afternoon from our first full camping trip. It was a 5 day adventure with the wife and kids. We went to a new campground that's in a small beach town at about 3 hours from home.
This town is called "Matanzas" and the campground opened about 2 years ago. It's located in the middle of a pine forest and about 200 meters from the beach. There are some restaurants and new hotels in the town and the beach is a paradise for surfers and such... very windy though. The campground, since it's a little bit away from the beach, is very protected from the wind.
The sites are extremely clean, very leveled and they have a picnic table, a fireplace, light over the table and electrical/water hookups. It's a little expensive, at about $60 a night.... BUT.... this price includes a PRIVATE bathroom that's assigned to your site when you arrive.... and believe me.... is a great bathroom... extremely clean and with a very niche hot shower.
Well... we enjoyed very much our QS.... many people at the campground asked us about it... how much was it and many other questions.... they were very impressed with it.
The kids had an amazing time, and since we went with another couple of friends that has kids the same age, they enjoyed everything and played a lot. The best part for them were the campfires and eating marshmallows....
It was an amazing experience with our QS... one that will be repeated soon!
I leave you a couple of pictures... hope you enjoy them!

I looked up Mantanzas, Chile on Google Maps --- looks like a great scenic place. >>[a href="https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Matanzas,+Navidad,+O'Higgins+Region,+Chile/@-33.9649497,-71.878776,925m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x9663d6c926403b8f:0x637b4fef9f9ed50f!6m1!1e1?hl=en"] Lookie here [/a]<<

The private washroom/showers are a great idea. So too is those simple but nice privacy/wind screens that fence the edge of the site. We never see such amenities in North American campgrounds. I think we have a status quo situation where the definition of a campground here has not changed much in years and few are innovative. (That's not entirely true there does seem to be some innovation in the campground sector that caters to families with young children -- the 'Yogi Bear Land' type campgrounds).

It is great to see the Chile pics!

Love the family pic. I'll be taking a trip in my red 10.0 soon to Florida. I'll return the favor and show you a pic of your camper's twin.

Thanks for sharing.
