In our 8.1 we use a queen size air mattress on our end. Works ok for us.

We use a thermarest pad and a waffle weave foam pad and it work great for us, we end up oversleeping.

I have a Quicksilver 7x20 with queen pop up bed off the side. I bought a Sealy 3 inch Queen mattress topper and put it on top of the stock mattress. Worth every penny. I slept on it for 10 days and slept better on it than my home mattress. When I travel I roll it up and place it in two heavy duty trash bags. I put the mattress in the bag and it uncompresses filling it. I take the second bag and cover it from the top down to keep any dirt/dust out. One word of advise. Let the thing air out for as long as possible. They all stink at first like a science project.

Also while talking about bedding...

I use Eucalyptus Origins™ 600 Thread Count Olympic Queen Tencel® Sheet Set. Expensive but WOW what an unbelievable set of sheets that stay cool even in damp humid conditions.

Solved my mattress issue.  Purchased a pair of ALPS Mountaineering Self-Inflating 3" pads.  They come in a set that velcro together.  Together they measure 47" x 75" (by 3", of course).  Spec sheet says the set weighs over 9 lbs for the set, but I don't think they're that heavy.

I slipped them under the stock mattress, and slept better in my QS8.1 this past weekend than ever.  They also insulate the stock mattress from the cold metal, so they don't get wet on the bottom.  And having two separate mattresses, one for me and one for the wife, prevents me bouncing her 3 feet into the air any time I turn over.

I found I can leave them fully open in the camper during the season.  I'll take them out and roll them up for the winter.

Our QS10 is a 2006 and our mattresses are only around 2.5" thick. I purchased a Queen 2.5" Memory foam topper (Sleep Innovations Brand) for $99.95. The other bunk is for the kids and they are fine with the regular mattresses. As I researched Sleep Innovations makes memory foam mattress toppers for Sealy and Serta. It's the one with the gel cooling in it. The topper fits the Queen QS bed perfectly. I believe its 60x80 which is only 2" different on the ends. We just roll it up and put between the dinette and the narrow fender side bin when its closed up. It expands quickly when we place it on the bed on top off the regular mattress. It was really comfortable with both types of foam sandwiched together with a fitted sheet over both.
