I cannot advise on the price but I can warn you that this forum will disappear in 1-2 days. Thor/Livinlite has withdrawn their corporate support. Most members of this forum are moving to [a href="http://aluminiumcamperforum.com/"]http://aluminiumcamperforum.com/[/a]. You should post your question there where many QS owners can help you.

The two Hondas should run the AC. I think it's a 5-9K BTU unit so one Honda might do it.

Anything not covered elsewhere / Last
January 01, 2017, 10:14:36 AM
I suppose it is possible that this forum URL will continue to work but Thor/LL will administer it. Content would be under their control so only time will tell what happens. Maybe I will get to 2K posts although that's a dubious goal  ;)

Anything not covered elsewhere / Farewell to all
December 31, 2016, 09:12:39 AM
Farewell to all

Farewell to all friends and LL owners. When this forum shuts down an epoch in LL and camping trailer history will end. Having been around from the beginning I can say it's been a hell of a ride and a lot of fun. This forum and the Rpod-owners forum establish the gold standard for what an owners forum should and can be. A particular thanks to @admin  for setting up and maintaining this forum.

I've joined ACF and will be there to help other new owners. Thor's intention for this URL are unknown. I'll watch and hope but expectations are not high.

So for now, Farewell to all and Camp On!

OK folks. I finally got it working with FireFox. Many hours later and having tried lots of things including reinstalling FF it seems the problem was the browser was going to some strange place on ACF and picking up an error code.

The URL must be exactly:  "http://aluminiumcamperforum.com/"    without the quotes.

See you there when this one dies, probably at month end.

Don't know what the problem is. I'm using ATT hotspot now; be home shortly and can work more at it. Firefox works fine everywhere else but it keeps getting updated, as does forum software, and it's a wonder any of it ever works.

Now this is really getting baffling. @ 0810 Eastern: If I open a Firefox window and try to read content I get the FORBIDDEN message. If I leave the window open and open a second window it works fine. I've checked all Firefox settings I can find for blocked, permissions, etc and can't find anything obvious. Some really mysterious interaction between Firefox and the forum server software. Maybe Paul has a "CharlieM" filter on the site  ;) .

Dec 26 @0700eastern: No change. Same error message when trying to read anything. This problem is recent because I have always been able to read messages and look at your statistics since you began the forum. I've just seen this error in the last month or so.

Edit: No problems with an iPad. Seems to be just Firefox, but Firefox has always worked for me.

Second Edit @ 0728: Just started working on Firefox! This is very intermittent.

The plot thickens. After rebooting the iPhone I get good connection to ACF and it's content. I also get good connection using the iPhone as a hotspot to a laptop with Internet Explorer. Using the same iPhone hotspot and laptop but Firefox, I get connection to the ACF home page but any content brings up the FORBIDDEN error. In the past this error has been intermittent. See attached. Same error occurs when connected via WiFi with the same laptop (no ATT iPhone in the loop) and all virus scanners off. The problem appears to be between Firefox and the forum SW. I'll keep trying.

#1. So, the wonders of hardware and operating systems.

#2. I could connect via WiFi but not via my iPhone on ATT or using the
iPhone as a hot spot. Hmmmm. When in doubt, reboot. I rebooted then
iPhone and all is well.

See #1.

A Google search for "livin lite forum" brings up ACF as #2 right after this forum. A search on "livinlite forum" does the same but asks if you meant "livin lite forum".

As of Yesterday morning, 24 Dec, I'm getting no response from ACF. Browser times out waiting.  Looks like the server is down. Anyone else experiencing this?
#12
Anyone else have trouble reading ACF WITHOUT logging in? Those of us who check forums several times a day would like not to have to log in if we don't have anything to say. I get an error message saying "FORBIDDEN....." when I try to read any posts. However, it's very erratic.....sometimes it works fine.

Camplite Truck Campers / Highpoint microwave broke
December 20, 2016, 09:43:09 AM
Yes to both. If the micro is still in warranty you should send it back. Mine began acting up, totally ignoring any touch button input, so I contacted the vendor. They had me cut off the power cord, copy the S/N label, and mail both back to them. A new micro was on my porch within days. Even they didn't want the old one back. Interesting approach.

Camplite Travel Trailers / 21BHS just ordered...!
December 19, 2016, 10:53:34 PM
Glad you asked that  ;) . The original welds between the top of the frame and original bumper are the most likely to fail. Any torque from bikes, gens, etc will put those joints in tension which is not a weld's strongest property. You are trying to get all welds in shear. The new welds connecting to the frame on three surfaces of the added 2x4 are critical. The partial welds along the length of the new 2x4 are only to keep the two 2x4s from moving or slipping relative to each other. They are not as critical so three to five should be adequate. If you're going to add a 2" receiver in the center for a bike rack you should avoid a weld exactly in the center as it may interfere with a snug fit for the bolt-on hitch receiver. Plan carefully and you'll still get it wrong :) .
